The event was held at Apex Park at Dubbo and attracted 64 teams from all over NSW with a total of 800 players participating.
The South Coast team representing the Yuin Nation (Black Ducks) had players selected from Batemans Bay down to Eden.
The teams were made up of both indigenous and non indigenous players, with an emphasis on players having a minimum of 78 per cent attendance rate at school to be eligible.
The girls’ team was coached by Cherie Potts (Bay Police) and Natasha Davis (Mogo Campbell Page) and the boys’ team were coached by Langer Nye (Katungul) and Aaron Williams (Narooma Campbell page).
For both teams this was the first time participating in an event of this size, with the majority of the girls’ team having never played Rugby League before.
Both sides played exceptionally well with a lot of exciting tries scored and all players had a great time and are now looking forward to playing again next year in the annual event started by the PCYC two years ago.
The Far South Coast PCYC would like to thank major sponsors Katungul, Campbell Page, Batemans Bay Soldiers Club and the Batemans Bay Mariners Club.
