Rest in peace to all the souls on board and let’s hope for a speedy recovery of their remains and that the investigation gets to the bottom of what happened.
On a more positive note, there are lots of sporting achievers in this edition who have travelled far and wide to compete.
A big well done to PE teacher Sally Jeffry for her silver medal in the World Duathlon Championships in Spain and also to the kids Lilly and Connor for their gold medals at the Little Athletics events in Canada.
It is also great to see the PCYC up and running, already getting results by sending the Yuin Nation Black Ducks off to compete at Dubbo.
These kids should benefit greatly from the positive experience and meeting their peers from around Australia.
Now we can look forward to the Wallaga Lake Stingrays junior rugby league side coming into the Group 16 competition, which should be another real boost for community morale.
