A HUGE gum tree located at the Narooma Plaza shopping centre was cut down by contractors working for Eurobodalla Shire Council on Tuesday.

A council notice on the tree stated the tree had to be removed because of “significant epicormic growth, tree hollows and borer damage, decay and disease”.
Willcocks Avenue was closed while tree loppers and a crane went to work.
