A GREAT day was had by all at the official 50th Anniversary ‘Back to Lyrebird Park’ Day last Saturday during Round 14.

Supporters, past Warriors, parents, carer’s and invited guests were entertained with four home games starting with the under 7s, 8s, 9s and finishing with our big hearted under 12s team.
Life members and sponsors were treated with a high tea (Lyrebird Style) while our current players enjoyed a free lunch, popular music, specially designed face tattoos and a jumping castle.
The formalities of the day included the recognition of the life members and their contribution to the club in the last 50 years. A special presentation to life member, Les Harris for his 50 years of service to the Nowra Warriors JRLFC.
The origin of the Warriors song ’Boom Chicka” was revealed and sung by all present.
Life members Betty Morris and Les Harris cut the official Anniversary cake and cupcakes were enjoyed by all.
Highlights of the day included; the reunion of many past players, committee members and life members involved with the club in the last 50 years. The 40 metre supporters tunnel, made up with present players, life members, sponsors and supporters. It was formed to cheer on the under 12 Warrior team in their match against Kiama.
A big thank you to all of our ‘early bird’ helpers along with the 2014 Warriors committee, and everyone who contributed to make the 50th Anniversary a success.
