Numbers at the ceremony were down because the service conflicted with the funeral of veteran Tom Gosling who passed away on Tuesday, August 12.
In pouring rain a wreath was laid at the memorial with Ted Poczyhajlo and Garry Parlett getting soaked to the skin as they raised the Australian flags to half-mast.
Traditionally on August 18, Australians join together to honour the men and women who served our nation during the Vietnam War. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
Among the people attending the service were some members of the Narooma RSL sub branch along with visitors from Wangaratta Ross and Joan Guymer.
Also attending was Dennis Smith who attends each year in honour of his father Colin Smith who fought in the Vietnam War but sadly passed away two years ago.
After the service the Vietnam Veterans and visitors warmed up with refreshments inside Club Narooma.
