THE Narooma Devils didn’t play last week as the Devils had the bye, so it was a good opportunity for the players to have their presentation night, as all the games had been finished for the trophies.

The first grade Devils and the Devilettes now face off against Moruya in the semi-finals on Sunday at Bill Smyth Oval. Narooma needs to win their games this weekend to continue through to the finals ‘so we need that hill roaring for the Devils’.
On Friday night the Devils held their presentation night at O’Brien’s Hotel. There was a good crowd with good food and lots of trophies awarded, thanks to the Devils sponsors Paul O’Brien and Scottie Cavanagh who ensured the evening was a complete success.
Trophy winners were:
First grade best and fairest – Taylor Alley and Tony Tyrrell.
Best Back – Tyler Hextell.
Best Forward - Kyle Burnell.
Most Improved – Tom Cooney.
Rookie of the Year – Max Carter.
Player’s player – Riley Hextell.
Reserve Grade best and fairest – Stephen Stenhouse.
Best back – Joel Lansky.
Player’s player – Daniel Alderton.
Most Improved – Pat Penton.
Player’s player and coaches award – Aaron Williams.
“Although the Devils reserves didn’t make it into the semis, it was wonderful to have them on the field after so many years without them,” Devils president Jaime Wright said.
“Our beautiful girls and they were beautiful on Friday night they scrubbed up well and of course, so did our boy’s; lots wore ties and really looked good!” Devils footy stalwart Myra Wright said.
Devilettes trophies:
Best and fairest – Jamie Anne Wright.
Most consistent – Kira Campbell.
Coaches award – Stacey Hall.
Most improved – Jaydean Lonsdale-Patten.
Player’s player – Sam Monk.
The Stan, Eric and Clem Wright Memorial Trophy was won by Troy Cook.
Devils president Jaime Wright thanked all their sponsors and announced that the club person of the year was Bob Burnside, a popular win, an ex-player and good supporter of the Devils.
He also thanked Kim for all her great work in the canteen and presented her with a lovely bouquet of flowers.
The Devils need plenty of helpers this Sunday, so if you have an hour or two to spare, please put up your hand.
