The Little Night In (not to be confused with Big Day Out) is a drug and alcohol free music night for performers under 21, with anybody welcome to come along.
This will be only the third ever Little Night In, and promises to be the best yet, with the very talented local singer/songwriter Tim Winterflood following the regular open mic Blackboard Concert which opens the night, in which all young performers are encouraged to show us their talents.
The headline act for the evening will be the amazing Wollongong-based band Foxground, who have had their fair share of playtime on Triple J radio and supported Snakadaktal (Triple J Unearthed High winners of 2011 and well-loved members of the Australian indie music scene).
Foxground seem to be set to follow in Snakadaktal’s footsteps, and this is your chance to get out and see them ‘before they were famous’ so you can boast to all your friends.
The night will be hosted by none other than professional scallywag and unprofessional circus performer, Rhys Davies The Trickster.
The Little Night In started a few months ago, with everybody cramming themselves into a quaint little house in Cobargo to ward away the cold and the rain outside.
It was a complete success, and some contortion acts were required on everybody’s behalf to fit inside the small venue for the second event, which was bigger and better than the first one.
So make sure you come along to this third night in its new (bigger) home, the Quaama Hall, which is guaranteed to be a great night and supports local young artists, which I think we can all agree is extremely important.
Doors open at 6.30pm, and the cost is only $5 (kids under 12 go free). The Little Night In will also be running a special ticket deal in conjunction with past Little Night In performers Frost In Space, who are playing a show at the Nook in Rixon’s Arcade, Bega, on August 30. A special double pass will be available at the Little Night In for both shows for only $7.
