When it's finished, the park will be suitable for all-levels of rider with new features that include a quarter pipe, grind rail, manual box and stairs.
“I’m stoked,” said Tyron Zammit, who has lobbied for years for the expansion even running for council on the issue.
The park is now closed and the contractor, Convic Skate Parks, is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete the work, weather permitting.
Eurobodalla Shire Council mayor Lindsay Brown thanked the local youth and parents who got involved in the Narooma Skate Park extension project.
“Young skaters have worked closely with Council to help choose the new features. I would like to thank those who attended our workshops in April and May to have a say,” Clr Brown said.
“The final concept reflects what many of the users and their parents wanted to see there.”

Convic park builder Brett Lawler, who has just returned from building a $3 million park in Christchurch, NZ, said weather permitting the first pour could begin as soon as later this week.
Next week, there would be more concrete poured while the following week the steel additions and some landscaping would be added.
“Fingers crossed we can be out of here in three weeks and you guys will be left with a beautiful park,” Lawler said.
