NAROOMA'S three U10/11 squads travelled to Surfside for their end of season Gala Day. The players had fun but most agreed that it would have been more fun if the scores counted in a competitive format. Everyone was happy to receive a Eurobodalla Football Association medal in a presentation at the end of the day.
The combined Bodalla/Narooma Youth Girls team enjoyed a big win against Batemans Bay, securing second spot in the ladder and a place in the semi-finals.
The Youth Boys found their form again away to Moruya Swans, playing an exciting game with the lead switching back and forth. Moruya took the lead from a penalty with Narooma equalizing from an individual effort from Pablo Crome. After the break Narooma defended well and fended off determined Moruya attacks biting back with two more goals; one a great team effort from Elliott Bendixsen and Luke Seaman finished by Zac Martin, the other from Elliott. It was then Moruya's turn to break through, scoring two to equalize. In a contentious decision, Narooma had the winning goal disallowed after Elliott struck again to drift one clearly over the line. Final score 3-3 giving both teams a place in the semis.
The All Age Ladies also played their way into the semis with a win over local rivals Bodalla.
