Unfortunately the funding secured for the position by the Eurobodalla Shire Council has ended but there is hope additional grants under the Federal Government’s new indigenous policy can be found to reinstate the position.
Burke over the last eight months since he took on the position is proud to have completed a new “Wallaga Dreaming” community plan that consulted with pretty much every one of the village’s 70 residents.
The residents expressed to him a need for more economic development and fostering of small business in the village that would lead to more employment.
Community healing was another main theme that residents wanted that would lead to a safer and healthy environment at the village.
