THE Narooma Sport and Game Fishing Club recently held their AGM.
This saw the election of a new president, Les Waldock, following the resignation from that position by Mick Roberts, who was thanked for his past service to the club.
Other newly elected office bearers were, Lou Moore snr vice president, Paul Ingamells as jnr vice president, with Warwick Huntsdale as the incoming secretary.
A dinner and awards presentation was held that evening, with members enjoying a roast dinner, followed by delectable desserts.
Among the many awards on the night were GFAA Game fisherman of the year, Peter Vaughan, ANSA Estuary and Mens Club Champion Barry Wells, Bec Fenton taking out ANSA Bluewater and Ladies Club Champion, and Bernard Jackson ANSA Tag and release.
Congratulations and a gift were presented to Bev Wells for 25 years of membership.
In August, keen club members went out for bluefin tuna, with good catches by Peter Vaughan, John Cathor and Les Waldock.
Members and guests are invited to the clubhouse every Friday evening from 4.30 for drinks, nibbles and an exchange of fishy tales.
The club also regrets the passing of local character and poet Barry Lake, with a tribute poem in this week’s letter page.
