It’s always a great day out for the whole family, including the dog. What a wonderful way to enjoy the wonderful spring weather and have some fun as well.
Registrations will open at 9am on Sunday, September 21 at NATA Oval behind the Visitor Information Centre on the Princes Highway in Narooma.
It is $5.00 per dog to enter and every dog gets a goody bag to take home. There will be lots of entertainment before the walk including a warm up session led by local fitness instructor Kerry Markham.
Then the walk starts at 10am and you will walk along the beautiful foreshore in front of the caravan park.
You have the choice of walking only as far as Federation Arch, where the happiest dog will be judged, or you can continue on to the beginning of the board walk or even to the end of the board walk and come back.
When you get back there is even more to see and do with a demonstration from the top class of the Narooma Dog Training Club.
This is followed by show ring events ($3.00 per dog) and a few games which are free, and to finish it all off there is the Canine X factor where dogs can show off all their special tricks, and a Fancy Dress parade where you and you and your dog can get dressed up in anything you like. So get your thinking caps on.
The prizes for all the events are provided by the local community and are well worth winning. At the end of the day there will be a lucky dog prize so stay around, because it’s a really good one.
So put on your best dog-walking shoes, give Fido or Fifi a brush to get them all spruced up, grab a lead and come along for the best fun you will have with your dog all year.
Bring some chairs or a rug and just soak in the wonderful atmosphere. It’s all great fun for the whole family.
