Twenty minutes in and the boys were playing well with Chopper taking high balls, Tyler Hextell kicking well, Merv Naylor making good runs and Todd Wright tackling like a demon.
Then Bega kicked a penalty goal putting Bega 6-0 in the lead.
After Troy Beecham and Chopper made a try saving tackle 30 minutes in and Bega’s Martin Scott-Thomas scored and Bega were 12-0.
The Narooma Devils were looking down the barrel of a gun and were flat. Five minutes later Bega scored again.
Going into half time Bega were 18 to Narooma 0.
The Devils came back onto the field after half time fired up and ready to go.
Fifty minutes in and Justin Keegan grabbed the ball, dummied Bega and went over the line with a smile on his face to finally put Narooma on the score board – Bega 18 Narooma 4.
“We thought we were coming back until Bega scored again in the 60th minute of the game,” Devils president Jaime Wright said.

Bega 24 – Narooma 8.
Time had all but run out when Bega’s Ryan Apps went over the line and Bega scored again in the dying minutes of the game.
The final score was Bega 28 Narooma 8.
“We did so well to get to the grand final and we are so proud of our boys,” president Jaime said.
“Thanks to everyone who helped especially Tony Rose who drove the bus for the team and made sure they had a lot of fun.
“Thank you to our Mascot Caleb Rapley did a wonderful job as The Devil; thanks Caleb.
“And a special thanks to our wonderful sponsors who we thanked last week in the Narooma News,” he said.
Best and fairest equally for the day was Todd Wright and Ali Elmasri.
The Narooma Devils are sad to report the passing of one of the 1955 premiership players and local Myles Mcdonald who passed away in Wollongong on Sunday.
A minutes silence was held in honour of him at the Group 16 Grand Final. “Our sincere sympathy goes to his family,” president Jaime Wright said.
