This time, a team of eight travelled to Canberra to show them what the South Coast is made of.
Backing up from a competition the week before, both Ryan Norman and Jeremy Mathews-Bennett pulled in the trophies, with Ryan winning his division - junior men, and then going on to take third place in the open men (short) class.
Jeremy also took out first place in his division – intermediate men and fifth place in the open men (short) class. They will both be stepping on stage again this weekend for the INBA Australian Titles in Brisbane.
NRT trainer Sandra Waters also competed with her team in the lead-up to the Australian titles where she will compete in the Figure Masters 40+ division. She competed in this division again at the ACT Titles where she secured fifth place.
Representing Team NRT in the Bikini Model Novice (short) class and Bikini Model Open division was Becky Tyrrell, who placed sixth in both divisions. This was Becky’s first time competing however her exceptional stage presence and confidence revealed the hard work and dedication she has put into her training.
Making their stage debuts were Amanda Close (a proud Bundjalung woman), Ness Wilton and Veronica Harold-Carter. Though they all competed in the Fitness Model 30+ division, these three women are actually over 40 (Veronica is in her early 50s) – proving that age is not a barrier to achieving your goals.
Amanda, Ness and Veronica stepped on stage as a team and among a tough line-up they posed like seasoned competitors.
Also competing for the first time was former Narooma girl Bec Cooper, who competed in the Figure Novice division. Bec showed off her individuality on stage and placed sixth in her line-up. Bec is looking forward to bringing an improved package to the stage in the future.
We would also like to thank all the supporters that came on the day, with a special mention going to Brett and Carol from Oddbods Gym who provides us with a facility that enables us to produce champions.
Team NRT is now refocusing and training hard for the 2014 INBA Australian Titles this weekend. A team of five are heading up to Brisbane to give it their all against some of the best bodybuilding, bikini and fitness competitors in Australia.
