Can you remember when we last had 200mm in one day?
The real issue was the rate of rain early on Tuesday morning with reports of up to 6mm a minute, which is truly bucketing down.
The Flat seemed to bear the brunt of the flooding but was this because of the influence of the tide and the ocean or just drainage issues relating to the low-lying area.
We may need to follow this up with council as it relates to the recent sea-level debate and could this be a taste of things to come?
Thankfully as we write this late on Tuesday afternoon, things seemed to have settled down and hopefully there was no real damage to property or any injuries.
As if this wasn’t enough news, we had the amazing experience of three humpback whales entering the Narooma inlet.
I think everyone was holding their breath that the whales would find their way back out.
As spectacular as it was, thankfully it doesn’t happen too often with the last time being 1994 according to our contributors.
