THE October shoot at the Bermagui Field and Game range was a 100 target handicap with the course set up by Willy White and his crew. The predicted light showers during the day did not eventuate and an enjoyable days shooting was had by all. The range comprised seven shooting stations with a good mix of targets that favoured the lower grades and made it hard for the top shooters to join the winning list. John Hosking from Quirindi and local shooters Mark Raabe and Phil Craig were the exceptions in A Grade.

Visiting shooters attended from Quirindi, Illawarra, Cooma and it was good to see Dan Bruinsma back for a short break from Western Australia as well two new shooters and their wives from Bermagui. High Gun was won by Mat Richardson from C Grade with a score of 117 that was closely followed by Michelle Craig and Grace Gschwend in Ladies with 116.
Special thanks goes to Maddie and Rory from Benny’s Butchery in Cobargo who donated a desirable meat tray for each monthly shoot as a consolation prize for the shooter who is unsuccessful in shooting the required number of targets to win the shoot raffle jackpot. The meat tray had to be raffled off this month as Gavin Moulding proceeded to pulverise the required eight targets and walked away with the $500 jackpot; quite a compensation for being so heavily handicapped in his grade.
