With the continued hard work and dedication year to year of Narooma Swim Club to run the annual meet, the reputation of the Narooma meet continues to grow and attract swimmers to Narooma for the annual swimming meet and some time to relax in Narooma.
Many hours of preparation by the Narooma Swim Club committee for the day were undertaken. With volunteers on the day from Narooma Swim Club pitching in to set up the pool, run the kitchen, work around the pool deck and cook the barbecue the day was a complete success.
A big thanks to Narooma's Carol Mead who was referee for the day and ensured the carnival was able to run smoothly. Carol's extraordinary dedication to swimming on the South Coast continues to provide not only the Narooma Swim Club but many others up and down the coast the expertise required to hold such events.
The Narooma Dolphins Swim Team consisted of 26 swimmers with several new members enjoying their first carnival. Club captains for 2013/14 Ashley Walpole and Riley Miles led the team of swimmers representing Narooma. The swimmers accomplished many achievements throughout the day with many PB’s (personal bests) and medals received. It is great for the club to see the swimmers continue developing their swimming from squad and club nights, giving their best efforts and having smiles all round.
