Well we have been absolutely flooded by letters to the editor from South Coast Hunters Club members and supporters about the proposed HuntFest.
Obviously we were not able to publish all of them given our limited space, but we selected a few from locals that seemed representative.
It will be interesting to see if we get a flood of letters from opponents now.
We can see both sides of the debate and this is not an easy one to cover given the passions on both sides.
Many, obviously all the letter writers, believe hunting done by responsible and registered hunters is a legitimate activity, but whether we want to encourage a gun culture and hunting by recreational hunters and not trained professionals in national parks is another matter.
Let the debate continue!
Finally, we bring you some council candidate profiles from both the Bega Valley and Eurobodalla, and there will be more in next week’s edition, the final one before the election.
We seriously considered conducting a Narooma News candidates forum, but it turned out to be too hard given the short notice and number of candidates – but it was a good idea and maybe next time…
