Boats on Thursday continued to express frustration at fish of 63 and 64cm just under the legal limit of 65cm.
But what a difference a day makes and Facebook lit up on Friday with reports of a legal fish.
Charter boat operator Matt Betts from The Sheriff snapped a photo of the boats grouping at Montague Island– a sure sign the kings are on!
While Playstation skipper Nick Cowley posted a couple of photos of the happy punters on his boat.
The kingfish are fickle and it remains to be seen whether these just legal fish stick around and whether the fishing picks up over the next week.
