We are hearing bits and pieces about the drug ice in our community and judging by a couple of horrific incidents it may have triggered, this appears to be really a horrible drug that makes people do unspeakable things.

I guess we may have been naïve to think we could have escaped this scourge that is all over the nation, but whether it really as big a problem as in other communities remains to be seen.
Given the supposed addictive nature of this drug, I guess any ice is a problem and hopefully steps can be taken to eliminate it as much as possible and educate everyone about its dangers.
On a much more positive note, the farewell of Sergeant Steve Mawson from the Narooma police station was an emotional event and given the dangers and unpleasantness encountered by our law enforcement officers, 43 was truly a major milestone to have reached.
The Sarge was always great to deal with and enabled us to bring you the police report each week, something that other newspapers and police commands don’t always have working so well.
