THE grey morning didn't keep the true blue crowd away with over 300 plates of bacon, eggs and sausages served up in the Narooma Surf Club's car park this Australia Day. Thank you to the Narooma Lions Club and our own club members who assisted with the days preparations. The team of helpers got there early and began tending to the steady stream of hungry customers at 8am.
Nippers is back
There was a huge turnout for the first week back at Nippers, especially for a long weekend when many people are still on holidays. Lots of helpers on the beach made for a great morning and thankfully the cool change in conditions came after our activities were over.
A mock helicopter rescue was well timed for the end of Nippers with the crowded beach witnessing the training drill in action. Thanks to Liane for organising ice blocks and the barbecue which always satisfies the kids after a highly energetic morning.
Patrolling Members
A massive thank you and congratulations to our volunteer lifesavers who have done an amazing job patrolling our beach over the Summer holidays. Making the most of long days on the beach, our patrolling members have taken time out from their busy lives and families to provide a service to the community.
We had very few rescues and most importantly no drowning’s due to the commitment of all those involved. Patrols now drop back to 10am - 2pm on Saturdays and 9am - 2pm on Sundays. Without these tireless volunteers our club would cease to exist, as would the competitive rights of our Nippers and Seniors.

Nippers barbecue roster
We have lots of helpers on the sand and in the water, we are looking for a few hands to help out on the barbecue once and a while.
Liane does an amazing job each week preparing, cooking and cleaning up the Nippers barbecue but it would be nice if she had a few people she could rely on to be there as well, so that she can duck away to watch the action on the beach from time to time.
We have lots of registered associate members who are probably waiting to be asked to help out with something… let us know who you are. Come and speak to Liane next week at Nippers - not a huge commitment but a very much appreciated one.
