THE annual Narooma High school swimming carnival is at the Narooma indoor swimming pool on Thursday, February 5 between 8.30am and 3.30pm (week two term one). The carnival is compulsory for all year seven students and is open to interested students and competitors in years 8 to 12. The carnival provides a great opportunity to meet new friends and compete in a safe and friendly environment. The carnival offers a variety of competitive races as well as novelty events to help cater for student’s physical capabilities. Please take a look at the program to familiarise yourself with the order of events in the lead up to the competition. If any parents are willing to volunteer their time on the day please contact Dion Cafe at Narooma High on 4476 4377 during working hours or drop him an email on dion.cafe@det.nsw.edu.au.
Narooma High teaching staff will provide supervision at the pool from 8.30am on the day. Parents can drop students at the pool from 8.30am onwards.
Students catching buses travelling from the North (Dalmeny, Kianga, North Narooma, North Town and Bodalla) will all be dropped off at the Narooma Visitors Centre on the morning of the carnival. Students will walk to the pool from this stop.
Students travelling from the South (Bermagui, Wallaga Lake, Akolele, Cobargo, Tilba, Mystery Bay and Old Highway) will all be dropped at school. From here they will catch a connecting bus from the front of the school to the swimming pool. This connecting bus will be provided free of charge by Symons Bus Company.
All students will be transported back to school at the conclusion of the carnival to catch the connecting buses to both the north and the south of the township. These connecting buses will be provided free of charge by Symons Bus Company.
Cost: $3.50 for students and $5 for adults (YMCA pool entry).
Food: Bring a packed lunch or use the pool canteen facilities.
Equipment: Swim wear, towel, goggles and a change of clothing
