THIS Thursday, Narooma High School has 11 individual athletes and five relay teams competing in Dapto at the South Coast Regional Swimming Championships. A top three finish in Dapto will see them qualify for the NSW State CHS Championships in Sydney in late March.

To qualify for Regional, these swimmers had to finish in the top three of their races at the Zone carnival, which was held in Narooma on February 18.
The team for Regional includes:
Dylan Tunks in the 16 years boys who was second in the 100m freestyle, first in the 200m individual medley, first in the 100m breaststroke, second in the 50m freestyle and second in the 200m freestyle.
Connor Breust in the 14 years boys was second in the 50m freestyle.
Kaleb Moritz in the 14 years boys was first in the 50m freestyle.
Eric Hills in the 14 years boys was first in the 100m butterfly.
Rory Spurgeon in the 13 years boys was second in the 100m backstroke.
Aisha Thomas in the 12 years girls was third in the 100m breaststroke.
Lateisha Stewart in the 12 years girls was first in the 100m freestyle, first in the 100m breaststroke and third in the 50m freestyle.
Georgia Pendergast who was the 13 years girls’ age champion was first in the 100m freestyle, first in the 100m butterfly, first in the 200m individual medley, second in the 100m breaststroke, first in the 50m freestyle, first in the 100m backstroke and first in the 200m freestyle
Cecilia Colom-Davis in the 14 years girls was second in the 100m butterfly, second in the 100m freestyle, second in the 100m breaststroke, second in the 50m freestyle, second in the 100m backstroke and second in the 200m freestyle.
Ashley Walpole who was the 17 years girls age champion came first in the 100m butterfly, first in the 200m individual medley, third in the 100m breaststroke, third in the 100m backstroke and second in the 200m freestyle.
Megan Rutherford in the 14 years girls was third in the 100m freestyle and third in the 50m freestyle.
14 years boys 4x50m relay were first and consisted of Connor Breust, Kaleb Moritz, Eric Hills and Ryan Shaw
14 years girls’ 4x50m relay were first and consisted of Cecilia Colom-Davis, Georgia Pendergast, Megan Rutherford and Kim Ellison.
All age girls 6x50m relay were first and consisted of Cecilia Colom-Davis, Georgia Pendergast, Megan Rutherford, Lateisha Stewart, Ashley Walpole and Crystal Czubara.
Open boys medley relay who were first consisted of Matthew Swadling, Teig Wilton, Dylan Tunks and Rory Spurgeon.
Open girl’s medley relay were third and consisted of Cecilia Colom-Davis, Georgia Pendergast, Crystal Czubara and Ashley Walpole.

We would also like to make special mention of one of our swimmers, who last weekend at the Country Championships swam fast enough to qualify for the National Age Championships in two events. Georgia Pendergast in Year 7 will represent NSW in April at these championships, which are in Sydney. Congratulations Georgia!
