The helicopter landed on the school’s sports ground much to the delight of the children and teachers.
On board the Westpac helicopter were pilot Rick Walden and crew members Stewart Bailey and Harley Dengate.
Stewart Bailey told the students all about the twin engine helicopter and the types of rescues they performed before the children and teachers got to ask questions and there were plenty of them.
After the question time all the students got to go inside the helicopter and when they came out they were presented with a Westpac pink bracelets by Westpac’s Kellie Basset.
Then there was a surprise, one of the teachers found out it was crewman Harley’s birthday, so all the students sang him happy birthday.
Then it was time for the Westpac helicopter to leave. As it did it flew directly above giving everyone the opportunity to feel how powerful the engines of the helicopter were.
