Only five sides are in the competition and it means the under 18s will sometimes play at different grounds to the grade sides this season.
The two sides traded tries early and then Cooma led 18-12 at half-time on the back of an 80-metre intercept try.
In the second half the Sharks looked the better side but were unable to cross the try line after making poor choices that resulted in the loss of possession.
The teams traded tries in the second half until the scores were locked at 24-all with 10 minutes to play.
Neither side could break the deadlock and the match finished all square.
After the match under 18s coach Lee Nye said he was pleased by the effort and commitment from the boys.
“The boys have a lot of improvement in them, and I know that they will only get better from here” Nye said.
Moruya 24 (tries: Byron Brunhuber, Indiana Jones, Jacob Zutt and Niles Brigden, goals: Zutt 4/4) drew with Cooma 24.
