A great summer season was capped off with all swimmers continuing to improve their performances in the Club Championships and a memorable Club presentation dinner was held at the pool Club room with a fabulous selection of food for all our swimmers and their families to enjoy.
A highlight of the night was the unveiling of the Club’s new flat screen TV proudly purchased through fundraising efforts by the members and support of Betta Electrical Narooma, Smedley Electrical Services and Domain Drafting Services. Slide shows on the TV of swimming action around the club over the season kept the crowd entertained and we now look forward to utilising the TV for many more functions and club activities to come.
The Club Age Champions for summer 2015 were the first of the evening’s presentations. The recipients of the awards were under 7 years Evelyn O’Meara; Kaleb Miles 8 years; Giaan Café and Matthew Elliot 9 years; Ivy O’Meara and Jordan Gmur 10 years; Milaina Café and Josh Ryan 11 years; Ruby O’Meara and Aiden Miles 12 years; Sophie O’Meara and Banjo King 13 years; and over Ashley Walpole and Riley Miles.
Coach Rhett Dufty provided a summary of the season’s achievements and ongoing development of the club swimmers. Rhett went on to announce that exactly 100 Narooma Swim Club records were broken over the course of the season by our current crop of swimmers. And in annual tradition of the Club dating back to 1967, Rhett with his father and Club Life Member Mr Allan Dufty announced this years Ted and Daisy Street Memorial Achievement Award to be Georgia Pendergast.
