NAROOMA High School has a NSW public school champion in their midst. Georgia Pendergast in year 7 won the 13 years girls 100m Breaststroke at the end of last week in Sydney. Not only did she win gold for Narooma High School, she won bronze medals in another three events, which were the 50m Freestyle, 100m freestyle and 200m freestyle. She also placed in the top eight in the 200m Individual Medley and the 100m Backstroke as well as 11th in the 100m butterfly.

Dylan Tunks also competed at these state championships in the 100m Breaststroke and placed 22nd. The 14 years girls relay team which consisted of Georgia, Cecilia Colom-Davis, Megan Rutherford and Kim Ellison placed 17th out of 28 schools. We would like to congratulate these students on their outstanding performances at the CHS state swimming championships and the efforts they have put into training leading up to this carnival.
Cross Country
Narooma High School would like to thank all students who participated in last Wednesday’s Cross Country. We were fortunate that we were blessed with a beautiful, cool, sunny, Narooma autumn day. All students should be congratulated on running to the best of their ability on our very tough course. The top 10 students in each age group now progress to zone on May 8 in Wolumla. We would like to wish them good luck and suggest they get in some training over the school holidays. Congratulations to our age champions who are:

On other news for next term:
The Narooma High School athletics carnival is on the Tuesday of week 2, April 28. This carnival is compulsory for years 7 through to 12. Remember there will be traditional events as well as novelties. Students will be expected to move around with their age group on the day and the more events they compete in the more points they will accumulate for their house. Please come dressed in house colours.
