“It was an absolutely wonderful night,” Narooma Rotary President Angie Ulrichsen said.
“These awards give business owners the opportunity to publicly acknowledge the pride they have in their staff and how much they value the work they do.
“It’s such a great program,” she said.
Those receiving 2015 Pride of Workmanship Awards were:
* Justine Tominey (Dalmeny Long Day Care)
* Wendy Machin (IRT Dalmeny)
* Lorraine Clark (Meads ABC Bakery)
* Rowan Hawkey (Narooma Auto Electrics)
* Debra Timms (Narooma High)
* Jack Geard (Tilba Real Dairy)
* Kate Madden (Tilba Sweet Shop)
* Morgan Anderson (Whale Restaurant),
Other special guests were Eurobodalla Shire mayor Lindsay Brown and his wife Lyn.
Rotary Vocational Service Director Laurelle Pacey said what is so special about this program is it is not a competition.
“It’s public recognition of people in our community who are doing a great job at work and who are appreciated by their boss.
“If the business owner or manager believes an employee deserves this prestigious award, they put in a nomination and an award is given. It’s as simple as that.”
Narooma High teacher Debra Timms was unable to attend Thursday’s presentation and will be presented with her award at a later time at the school.
