The only ray of sunshine was the beautiful ladies tag team who beat Moruya soundly by 36-4. They looked very professional in their new jerseys as did the men.
Janaija Parsons kicked the try scoring off early in the first half. Jamie Anne and Remi Wilton combined well with each other all day with Remi getting a hat trick of tries. Janaija scored one; Jamie Anne Wright scored one try and converted all goals and Kira Campbell scored one.
All the girls defended well with great defence on the line. It was an outstanding game by all the girls.
They are looking like having a great year.
Best and Fairest points were Remi Wilton 3, Stacey Hall 2, 1 Players player Remi Wilton and Coaches award.
Reserve Grade was a one sided event for Narooma too many mistakes for Narooma to do any good ending up with a horrible score of 50-6.
Their coach said that the lads needed more training.
“I think boys you all tried hard but Moruya was just too good,” he said. Best and fairest 3 points Marley Blair, Ronald Ahoy 2, Milko Cowley 1 also players Player and Elijah Blair Coaches award.
First Grade was a disappointing result for the coach and his players that are plagued with injuries.
They tried hard but Moruya were again much too good.
Moruya began with try after try and received penalty after penalty - Moruya 22-0. Then Narooma scored a try by Clint Wright and Brendan Harper converted 22-6.
Narooma was attacking again close to the line and out of the blue Moruya ran the full length of the field and this is pretty much what happened for the rest of the match, half time score was 38-6.
Narooma had no answer and they just continued to succumb to try after try. Narooma’s Ryan Weymouth scored one more time.
It was a game Narooma would like to forget, but we can't give in and there’s only one way to go and that’s up.
Best and Fairest 3 points Tony Tyrrell, Neil Graham 2 and Chris Brown 3, Neil Graham also got Players Player and Coaches award.
Thanks to all that helped out but Narooma still needs more helpers please.
