Well done to the committee that organised the amazingly, comprehensive Anzac display at the Big Hall at Central Tilba.
Hundreds of people visited the display and one visiting Navy sailor was overheard to say it was the best historic display he had seen outside the War Memorial in Canberra.
Well done to the Nashos for organising the Hercules C130 aircraft – what a rush as it flew past. Well done to the Lighthorse troops and surfboat crews who made the day even more special.
Last Thursday took on a sour note with police searching the Bermagui area for the man wanted in relation to the Canberra woman found in the boot of a car.
This appears potentially another case of domestic violence, a growing problem around Australia only now getting the media attention it needs.
Every week the local police deal with numerous cases of domestic violence that don’t make it to our police report, but it is happening right here and right now.
It will take a massive effort by everyone to change attitudes and get on top of this hidden but horrible problem.
