The girl’s started off slowly and at half time they were behind for the first time this year.
Following a talking to from coach Mark Elmasri the girls lifted their game and ended up coming away with a 14 all draw.
It was a good effort for the girls as many were sick with the flu but had the dedication to play on regardless.
The Reserve grade men had to forfeit because there were too many injuries but lack of dedication by the boys was a problem.
The first grade Devils men had only 14 gallant men. Some were injured but played and there was only one on the bench. Four of the first grade players pulled out on the Saturday and Sunday.
The saying is "When the going gets tough the tough get going". Where were you? It was very disappointing. The senior Devils lost the match 42-18. Only one reserve made the difference. It was a great effort to all the players who played.
Best an fairest points went to Trey Parsons 3 who scored twice, Scott Curry 2 had a bottler and Todd Wright who was injured but ran the ball like a champion. Tyson Moritz and Hahn Gunthorpe also scored and Clint kicked one goal. The lads really toughed it out and we can be proud of their game.
Next week on Saturday we play Batemans Bay at Bill Smyth Oval Narooma. Girls are at 12:30pm, Reserves 1:30pm and 1st Grade 3pm.
Everyone needs to get to training on Tuesday and Thursday.
