There are no rubber Ronald Reagan masks and not much beach, but there is definitely a Bodhi and a Johnny Utah.

But most importantly, as pointed out by film site Twitch, "no one fires their gun up in the air and goes 'ahhrgh'".
Fans took to Twitter on Wednesday to voice what was mostly disapproval at the reboot of the 1991 surfing crime thriller after the trailer dropped online.
The new version, directed by Ericson Core, sees Australian actor Luke Bracey step into Keanu Reeves's shoes as FBI agent Utah, with Edgar Ramirez playing the enigmatic crime gang leader Bodhi (previously played by Patrick Swayze).
Aside from the character's names, however, there appears to be very little in common with the original cult hit, directed by Kathryn Bigelow. Bigelow won an Oscar in 2009 for The Hurt Locker.
The action appears to have transferred to a snowy mountain range, with wingsuits adding another new element, alongside a bounty of a "few billion dollars of gold". "We're going to liberate it," Bodhi tells Utah.
Add to that free climbing, motorbikes and snowboarding, and there's a clear sense of what director Core, who was the cinematographer on The Fast and the Furious, is trying to achieve.
Ray Winstone takes on Gary Busey's role of FBI agent Angelo Pappas in the reboot, with Teresa Palmer as Tyler Endicott (originally played by Lori Petty).
Sadly there's no sign of the famous scene in which Reeves shoots his gun in the air, spoofed so cleverly in 2007 British comedy Hot Fuzz, starring Nick Frost.
Point Break is released in Australia on January 1.

I love the movie Point Break but I've always wondered, "Would this be better if the leads had no charisma?" I'll find out this Christmas!
