Work started last week and will be finished in three weeks.
The project has been planned for some time and will improve the centre, which under the proposed changes to council’s tourism operations could be leased out to a private operator or community group.
The submission period ended May 20, and council’s tourism advisory committee will meet on June 18 to talk about these submissions.
