Each year the Bodalla CWA branch invites some students of Bodalla Public School to participate on the day and join them for afternoon tea.
International Day at Bodalla began with the National Anthem followed by guest speaker Fran Musumeci who gave an informative talk about her home country.
She spoke of a beautiful country steeped in history; the beautiful artwork and buildings; the tradition of men having a glass of Grappa before they went to work, afternoon siestas and late dinners.
Each year some of the Bodalla Public School students do a project relating to the country of study and after Fran's talk some of the Bodalla students spoke about their projects and how much they enjoyed learning about Italy.
President of the Bodalla CWA, Colleen Constable presented Bodalla Public School teacher Sharon Houston with a cheque for $100 dollars from the Bodalla CWA to the school.
Italian pizza, cheese and salami, crostoli and almond bread were included among the goodies for afternoon tea.
Following afternoon tea, the Bodalla Public School students grabbed their brollies and headed back to school while the rest of the people played a game of Trivia prepared by Kath Crapp about Italy.
