No reports of any damage as the hailstones were only small but the weather bureau just reported that it was only 7 degrees at Narooma at 3pm after the storm hit.
The Narooma Golf Club fairways turned a lovely shade of white, while Donna Potter sent us a photo of the blizzard at the top of Brown Mountain!
Ronnie Ayliffe reports that seemed to be far more white stuff at Sams Creek just north of Cobargo -- "with hail all over the road --- we've just now noticed that one car lost control and skidded off the highway near the sams creek bridge --- take it easy if you are on the road in the area...."
There has been a severe weather warning issued for the South Coast and Illawarra.
Gale-force winds of up to 90 kilometres an hour are forecast for Thursday afternoon.
The NSW State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
- Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
- Keep clear of fallen power lines.
For emergency help in floods and storms, call the NSW SES on 132 500.
