COINCIDING with World Environment Day on June 5, local Narooma High School student Ben Potter was awarded the prestigious Bournda EEC Future Leaders Environment Award for 2015 at the whole school assembly.

Ben’s contributions to the Narooma High School Environment and surrounds over the past years have included the initiation, supervision and construction with volunteers of a memorial garden at the front of the high school.
As a Narooma Scouting member he has contributed to numerous Clean up Australia day activities.
In 2013 Ben was Project Manager for Narooma’s National Day of Climate Day action and was awarded Eurobodalla Young Citizen of the year in 2014.
Ben is currently studying Earth and Environment, Agriculture, Senior Science, Modern history, Legal studies and English to complete his HSC this year.
During his time at Narooma High he has shown outstanding participation as a school leader (member of the Student Representative Council) and selfless contribution to numerous school activities.
On completion of his HSC Ben plans to continue studies in Earth and Environment at University.
