It all came about because one of his designers and former Narooma resident Kaz Cooper requested that she design a special snowboard graphic for her friend and breast cancer survivor Jess Bourke.
The board featuring the “The Colour Within” graphic was auctioned at Jess’s “I Will Survive…” breast cancer fundraiser held at Club Narooma last year.
Now Kaz and Rich have gone one better, putting her colourful board into full production for this year’s snow season and together with a snowboard shop making the $50 donation from each board.
The boards are available from the Catalyst Snowboards website and also from and Rhythm Snowboard Shop, which has teamed up to make the donation.
“Please get behind this great cause and spread the L.O.V.E!” said Jess, who was diagnosed at age 28.
“My goal for the future is to continue to raise money for breast cancer research and also to raise awareness about breast cancer and that it can happen to anyone, no matter the age.”
And good mates Kaz and Jess are hoping to get up to the snow soon to test out the new board!
