Driver airlifted
THE Snowy Hydro Southcare chopper airlifted a 29-year-old Victorian man after he crashed his Hyundai Elantra off the Princes Highway about 3km north of Cobargo just after 4pm on Sunday.
The car was travelling north when it veered across the opposite lane, slid down an embankment into a tree.
The driver was trapped and was freed and treated by the VRA and ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Canberra, where he was treated and released later that night.
High range
POLICE responding to reports of an intoxicated driver stopped a 40-year-old woman on Marine Drive, Narooma, who recorded a high-range reading of 0.193 and was also found to be in possession of cannabis.
Poles stolen
TWO 14-metre wooden poles worth $2500 meant to be installed as power poles by the owner of a Punkalla Road, Central Tilba property were stolen sometime between February and September 1.
Bermagui vandal
SOMEONE smashed a light cover of a motel sign on Lamont Street, Bermagui at around 11.30pm on Saturday.
A sandwich-board style sign belonging to a business at the nearby Bermagui Fisherman’s Wharf was also smashed over the weekend. Police are hoping someone saw the damage being done.
Home theft
POLICE are investigating a report that cash was stolen from the wallet of a resident at Dalmeny nursing home on September 1 and request that anyone with information come forward.
Television theft
A WIDESCREEN television was stolen from a Payne Street, Narooma residence between last Tuesday and Thursday.
Gas and dash
A WOMAN driving a white Holden Barina filled a portable petrol container with $26 worth fuel before driving off from the Narooma Flat petrol station at 9.50am on Tuesday.
Police are following up having identified the vehicle owner.
Car damaged
SOMEONE scratched the bonnet and one side of a blue Commodore parked in the driveway of Dorothy Drive, Narooma residence overnight on Tuesday.
Tyre slashed
THE owner of a Mercedes van reported that someone slashed one of its tyres when it was parked on Ross Street, Narooma between 11.30pm and midnight on Thursday.
