THE National Parks Far South Coast Regional Advisory Committee invites everyone to help plan future uses of the former Penders property in Mimosa Rocks National Park south of Bermagui at a workshop this Saturday.
National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) area manager Preston Cope said every effort would be made to include all those interested.
Anyone interested in attending was supposed to have booked at the NPWS Narooma office on 4476 0800 by Monday.
Mr Cope says invitations have been sent to interested parties like the Friends of Bithry Inlet (FOBI) group and he expects a strong turnout at the Tathra Surf Life Saving Club, where the workshop will run from 12.45pm to 5pm.
“We know there are some strong views about the future use of the Penders site and I look forward to all of us sharing those views and working collaboratively to make compromises and decisions that benefit the heritage values of the site while providing opportunities for appropriate public use,” Mr Cope said.
“As provided for in the Mimosa Rocks Plan of Management, the refurbishment works for holiday accommodation at the culturally significant Myer House are nearly complete.
“So we are very interested in the public’s views on how best to manage the rest of the Penders site, to ensure culturally significant elements are used, protected and maintained into the future.”
