Forty-eight people, including family and club members, from the Devils all travelled up for the game – 13 players took the field for two games first against Cooma and then Bombala and were successful in both games.
They then stayed and watched the main game that saw a sudden death point win to the sharks 21-20.
The young Devils then got to meet and get photographs with some of the Cronulla star players including Luke Lewis and Paul Gallen, Michael Gordon and Valentine Holmes, who all signed gear for the kids.
Thanks to Luke Lewis who made the extra effort to meet the team and bring the other players out with him.
Narooma Devils U10s versus Bombala
THE Devils started the game a player short in cold and wet conditions. The Devils applied pressure on Bombala and the tries followed with the Devils leading by 22 to nil by the half time break.
After the break the Devils lost Ethan Griffiths with a head injury. Shortly after Kye Kelly left the field with a knee injury. The Devils lifted their game to score some great tries to race to 52 points. Then Bombala finally scored a try.
An injured Kye Kelly returned to the game to help out in the final five minutes. Bombala scored a try on full time to end the game. Devils 52 Bombala 12.
“It was a good effort by all players but Byron Lonsdale Patten and Shayla Moreton scored some brilliant tries and Kye Kelly’s effort to return to the field when still injured was courageous,” coach Kerry Day said.
