Councillor Thomson passed away from brain cancer on Friday, July 24.
Council employees had gone out earlier in the day and picked wattle growing along the roadside to Belowra which they held out as the procession led by a pipe band passed by.
The procession stopped briefly so the mayor Lindsay Brown could extend his condolences to family and laid a wreath of wattle on the casket.
The procession then continued on to Broulee Crematorium where a moving service was held to celebrate the life of the much loved and respected man that was held in high esteem by the community.
