LAST Friday Narooma HS traveled to Bateman's Bay to take on Queanbeyan's Karabar HS to decide the South Coast champion of the Tony Lockett shield.

Boasting a number of regulars from the Narooma Lions U16s the Sea Eagles got off to a quick start down wind to put a gap between them and Karabar HS in a blistering first quarter.
With Jai Reed dominating in the ruck, Jeremy Sly in the middle and Jackson Taylor kicking majors in the forward line, Narooma HS continued to their dominance in the second quarter to lead by 10 goals at the main break.
With the Narooma defence holding water tight Karabar HS found the going tough when going inside 50 with the Narooma defence rebounding well to hit Karabar HS on the counter as the Sea Eagles extended their lead into the third quarter.
There was no ease off from Narooma HS with the side linking up well extend their lead into the fourth quarter and run out convincing winners 21.6-132 to Karabar 2.3-15 to claim the South Coast final.
Jackson Taylor led the way with five goals, Jai Reed with four, Brock Lazzaro, Jermy Sly Zac Martin and Tully Wilton all with two and Liam Russell, Jack Sykes and Kaleb Moritz with one apiece. Best players on the day were Jai Reed, Kaleb Moritz, Chris Olsen, Tully Wilton, Liam Sweeney and Connor Breust.
Football Development Coordinator Jarrod Moore praised the good work of Kim Preston and his team.
“It's great for the school, local competition and community to have this group of boys doing so well in the Tony Lockett Shield.
“It’s a credit to Kim who has got the best out of the boys and it's a great opportunity for the boys that play regularly to develop as footballers whilst it also gives the boys who may be playing for the first time a great experience playing our great game.”
Narooma HS will now travel to Woonona on August 13 to take on the champion school of the Hunter Valley.
