He was followed by a group of closely contested golfers who all returned rounds of 36 stableford points.
On a countback selection basis the finishing order was Greg Ware, Michael Allen, Steven O'Shea and Brad Doolan.
Winners of the novelty coloured ball foursome event was Bruce Lidbury, Roger Chappell, Al Gannon and David Schmid with a score of 86 points.
Nearest the pins were won by A grade players Brad Doolan on the 4th with 1.60m.
Nobby Kozlowski on the 6th with 4.45m and Frank Pomfret on the 7th with 7.57m.
B grader Russ Elliott was best on the 4th with 7.30m.
Wayne Fullerton won the 6th with 8.0m and Ian McManus took out the 7th with 3.41m.
In C grade division T McCarthy won the 4th with 3.81m.
Chris Cox was closest on the 6th with 3.32m.
Next Saturday's event is a single stableford competition.
Men golfers are also reminded that the date of the fun charity day organised by Tuross Head lady golfers each year in support of the Moruya hospital is getting closer.
This IS on Tuesday September 8 and the format is a four person Ambrose competition.
