This Saturday will see the Devils boast teams in the U10s, U12s, U14s and the girls League Tag.
The U10s qualified last Saturday with a hard fought and high scoring win over a spirited Eden team. With the score locked at 24 all with six minutes to go the game looked set to be a nail biter. The Narooma lads kept their cool in the championship minutes and scored two late tries to seal the victory.
The U12s finished the year as minor premiers and sealed their spot in the grand final a week earlier with a convincing 30 points to 18 win over Tathra. The lads will meet Tathra again in a game that is a clash of the two most dominate teams all year.
The Girls League Tag finished as minor premiers and was also undefeated all year. The girls are the reigning champions and one would think if their ‘Super Coach’ can get them in the right head space, another premiership is not far away.
The U14s had a convincing victory over Eden on the weekend to qualify for their grand final. The score line might have been impressive last Saturday but coach Sweeney knows his boys will have to bring their A-Game to knock over a solid Moruya outfit this weekend.
The grand finals are all being held this Saturday at Tathra. The Devils would love as much support as possible. So why don’t you dress in red and white and come to Tathra for the day.
The first game kicks off at 9 o’clock.
See you there!
Go the Devils!
Devils U10s rugby league
AFTER a narrow loss last week the Devils travelled to Tathra to play Eden for the right to play Tathra in the grand final. The game started well for the Devils scoring two early tries to lead 12-0. Eden has one of the best players in the competition and he decided to test the Devils defence. Because of his size and speed he made the Devils defence look very ordinary, racing in four tries to have Eden leading 24-12.
With penalties and possession running Eden’s way it looked as though the Devils season was over. A change came over the game when the Devils started tackling and throwing the ball around and Eden’s defence fell apart and the Devils raced in five unanswered tries to win. Final score 36-24. We play undefeated Tathra in the grand final at Tathra next Saturday. The U10s join U12, U14 and ladies in a big grand final day. Coach Kerry Day
