JUST after dawn (!) the Redback 12/13s team kicked off their Major semi-final versus Bodalla. Their nerves were steady having been unbeaten all season but without star goalkeeper Digger and other key players and facing a determined Bodalla side, the outcome could not be predicted.

This was the most competitive and exciting game of the season so far: Narooma took the lead but Bodalla quickly equalized. There was a penalty drama when over-zealous defending gave Bodalla the free shot, saved by stand in goalkeeper Braith Mazzucchelli. Half time level pegging got Narooma's adrenaline pumping and the team were determined to keep their unbeaten record.
Narooma went one up but Bodalla fought back and equalised again. Another penalty drama unfolded when Narooma was awarded the kick, unfortunately this one was missed.
Narooma then found the goal and scored two more. Final result was 4-2 to Narooma who go through to the grand final. Bodalla live to fight another day, going through to the preliminary final against Moruya. It's likely to be Bulls versus the Redbacks in the grand final, so bring it on!
Congratulations to the Bodalla/Narooma Youth girls, who triumphed in their Minor Semi versus close rivals Broulee bringing them a date with Clyde in the preliminary finals at Surfside, kick off 10am.
The All Age Ladies played their hearts out in their Minor Semi versus Moruya. It was a close fought match with the play running end to end. It was Moruya who got the break through with a blistering shot from their captain.
This made Narooma all the more determined, leading to an equaliser just before full time. This sent the game in to extra time and again it was Moruya who found the net after an extended injury break disrupted the run of play. Well played, ladies. Thanks to Graham Tasker and Stephanie Sweet for coaching this season.
