These remote stations are on the thin red line and are a necessary to accommodate all RFS Brigades, Forestry, NPWS, Caterers, Aircraft as well as refuge in times of state emergency’s, wild fire and lightning strikes.
These remote stations also provide a happy and friendly space for training, hazard reduction burns, socializing and communication.
No over kill here. We must accommodate our services. Money well spent. State government, Eurobodalla Shire Council and Super Intendant John Cullen, on the people’s safety and well-being from the bush to the coast, in this beautiful but well forested part of the world.
We look forward to Bolowra and Runnyford having one of these most vital facilities.

Credit where credit is due
If Peta Credlin can claim credit for the Abbott victory as well as being the victim of sexism, is she claiming responsibility for the disgusting 'ditch the witch' campaign against Julia Gillard?

No thanks to Syrian refugees
I do not agree with bringing Syrian refugees to our town call me all the names you like but we have to look after our own youth and our aboriginal families.
We are a small town with high unemployment.
Our kids have to leave Narooma for stable employment. Our children had to leave for work and further schooling. . I do feel sorry for them however you are putting big groups of refugees in a town that already has a high employment rate and drug problems.
Ask some of the kids in this town how hard and how many hoops they have to go through to get some benefits. These refugees come into Australia and are handed benefits & housing, ask how many are waiting for housing here .
What happens when the De La Salle is destroyed are we the taxpayer going to have to pay to have it fixed up.
I am sure it sounds good on paper what a great offer this sounds like but the De La Salle pulled out of this town and left some of our people out of jobs.
How about they take them in their towns and houses. I don't know but has anyone else noticed how many young men more than 50 per cent are fleeing their county.
We are sending our boys to Syria, Afghanistan to be killed why are they not staying to fight for their country.
I know I'm going to be put down as racist etc but I am sure a lot more in this town feel the same as me.

Yes to Syrian refugees
A comment on the D Dot cartoon in last week's paper suggesting that we should be more concerned about Australian homeless people than the plight of the Syrian refugees.
Australian homeless already have access to the many safety nets offered by Centrelink.
The Syrian refugees, on the other hand, are escaping from life-threatening situations.
We should all welcome them here with open arms.
