The monthly competition had lower numbers and no juniors fished which was unusual and with this weekend’s bonanza, maybe two weekends in a row will be too much.
Sam Hicks was the senior cock-o-the walk with a fine 2.5kg snapper caught off the rocks and also won the beach, rock and estuary division.
Those that ventured outside had mixed results.
Adam Martin caught a 1.3kg sand flathead to win the blue water prize.
The club reminds anglers the bonanza weigh-in is at 2pm on Saturday and at 1pm on Sunday.
Late arrivals will not be accepted unless involved in a rescue or break down.
The club must be notified by phoning 4471 7327 or by coastal patrol notifying the club via Merle Zeigler's radio base at Moruya.
Entry to the competition can be paid between 4pm and 10pm this evening at the Tomakin Sports and Social Club.
To compete on Sunday only, pay entry at the club after weigh-in on Saturday.
All prizes not won will be drawn after the weigh-in.
Should fishing be abandoned each prize will be distributed this way.
Most juniors and sub-juniors will receive prizes if they entered and did not win a division.
Keep those rods held high and those lines tight.
