Eurobodalla Shire Council director of infrastructure Warren Sharpe said it had come to light that the western side of the boat ramp was under the 4-metre minimum width.
This was due to the vertical black skirt on the fixed jetty and the tie downs to the floating pontoon encroaching onto that side of the ramp.
Council will have to close the western side of the ramp for some minor concrete works to realign the tie downs and Mr Sharpe said council planned to do this prior to the Christmas holidays.
The eastern side of the ramp will remain open during that construction period.
