The convoy features a series of rare and vintage BMW models, including examples of each of the first generation of the BMW 3 Series as well as M5 and M3 performance cars.
The 12 classic BMW bikes and 12 BMW cars departed the Big4 Easts Narooma Holiday Park on Wednesday morning heading for their next stop at Mallacoota.
Riding the oldest bike, a 1939 BMW R12 that he restored himself with some help, was BMW Touring Club of NSW president Trevor Dean of Sydney.
Mr Dean said the ride had been great so far with perfect weather and on Tuesday the enthusiasts took a cruise on Wagonga Inlet with Charlie Bettini and his Wagonga Princess boat.
“Charlie was great – everybody was roaring with laughter,” he said.
The trek is raising funds for the Variety Club children’s charity and a big celebration was held in Sydney on Sunday before the departure with 120 cars and 70 bikes attending.
The ride has been nicknamed the “Zundschlussel”, which is German for the special starter key found on the front of classic BMW bikes.
