JOE and Kitty
Ryan of Narooma celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, August
18 at the Gaelic Club, Sydney. Their seven children, spouses and 18 of their 19
grandchildren celebrated with them, as well as friends and other family.
Joseph Ryan
formerly of Newport, County Tipperary) and Kitty (Catherine) Mitchell formerly
of Belfast, Northern Ireland) met in the Gaelic Club, Devonshire Street, Sydney
in March 1962.
They were married
in Belfast on August 18, 1962. They travelled the world throughout their
married life and their children were born in USA, Belfast, Tipperary, New
Zealand and Queensland.
They finally
settled in Australia in 1992 and have lived in Narooma for 10 years.
They are both
keen golfers and Joe is on the board of Narooma Golf Club. Their seven children
(and spouses) and 19 grandchildren are scattered throughout NSW, Tasmania and
Florida.
The couple’s
wedding cake was replicated for the occasion.
